Does anybody have a presets that could turn black clothing into white?

You could use the selection tools to select the black clothing area based on it's color. Then turn on masking in the operation toolbar and erase to white. Only the masked areas of the canvas will be erased to white if masking is turned on. And if the masked areas of the canvas are the black clothing areas, then only the black clothing will be erased to white.

Here's a tip on how to select and mask the canvas.
Permalink Reply by zachary on June 18, 2012 at 6:01am John you giving us a motion tracking in V5? Also add a standalone multi-batch render for video being converted to pas. Also needed is a sequence auto tracking color replacer to pick single point colors to get out. Also a output of Avi, and wmv.
With everybodys ideals Avid, Sony, Corel and Magix will be trying to buy you out. Studio Artist is the Google and Facebook of Video Editing. Thanks John

Selecting the color to be replaced will be the start of most approaches to your goal. You need not erase to white. Once the target area is selected you could fill to solid color. The advantage being you can fade the fill using different compositing strategies.
IF you have a black and white image.. or if the clothing to be recolored is black and white only... then you might find the INVERT ImOp the fastest solution.
You could even use the invert on an image that has a real color model wearing a black and white dress, after which you would bring back in the correct color of the model. (any one of 3 ways - clone brush, fixed image, select and erase to source.) The above done with the invert image then select dress and erase to source with mask on. Were I doing this for a paid job I would have taken greater care with the selection, but I think you can get the Idea
P.S. this is something that truly might be better done in PS. unless you are trying to Roto a sequence in which case you have a whole different kettle of fish.

Permalink Reply by liveart on June 17, 2012 at 11:44pm depending on the intricacy of the area you are trying to re-color you might be able to do it with key framing. But the whole process will be a lot easier when John gives us motion tracking in V5 (hint hint John)
Local and Global growth grow selections from the initial mouse down locations of the selection. So if an object moves that you are selecting, then you would have to keyframe the initial selection positions for these 2 Growth options.
The Global Color growth option selections just based on color. So you don't need to keyframe that. But you would have to have a distinct color you were selecting that stayed distinct throughout the entire video. Otherwise, you would need to get into keyframing.
If your selection is dirty, keyframing lasso selection garbage mattes to remove bad areas is one approach to cleanup.

The Selective Color Matte ip op effect is a useful selection tool. It allows you to work with multiple colors (based on the source color memories, or the color palette colors) to build a selection matte. You can set the Composite option to replace region selection to route the output of an ip op effect to the selection buffer.
The Selective Color Map ip op effect is closely related to Replace Color Matte. However, Replace Color Map will replace a color with another one. So this effect might be useful to you for what you are trying to do.

If you want a PASeq to jump around and playback different action steps on the layers they were originally recorded on, then you just need to turn on Layer Playback in the main Editor for the PASeq. Those PASeq editor settings are saved and restored with the PASeq preset.
Here's a tip on the PASeq Editor Options.
