I'm looking for a preset that would mimic the look and feel of a brick of compressed charcoal. This is for a project that will have still, hand drawn, images made in charcoal on paper overlaid with rotoscoped images, ideally in the same or an analogous style. Specifically of interest are the dark sharp lines of the corner of a charcoal brick contrasting with the softer more textured flat sides. I've attached two images to show the rough look I am going for.
I suppose I could do this with two presets layered on top of one another. One to do outlines/edges in a dark black and then a second that would do the more general texture. My preference would be a single preset to mimic the flow of rotating a brick of charcoal from edge to side. Any suggestions on approach for building the preset(s), or other places to start, would be appreciated.
