I mostly fetch my source images by drag and drop it into the source-area . but sometimes it happens, when I want to change the recent source image and I gonna fetch a new source, that I release the mouse by mistake when I'm over the canvas, so my prior artwork is gone to nirvana (this doesn't matter;-) and in this case SA provides me no UNDO. Is there a way to get one step back?

this is interesting. It does appear that you have discovered a hole in SA4's otherwise extensive undo feature.

We're aware of the 'hole' in the undo implementation you mention. During version 4 beta development undo was available for all operations that resize the canvas, but we turned those undo features off before shipping version 4 because of some other potential bugs associated with that particular undo feature having to do with the canvas resizing undo. We'd like to fix the issue, but it's still there in 4.03.
