hi, i have been trying to replace the image folder more permanently by going into the application and replacing "images" with my own..but it always defaults to the original images. can this be done?

Are you talking about an image folder brush preset?
If you want to change the image folder it is using for the image folder brush, then you need to run the File : Paint Synthesizer : New Image Folder Brush menu command, and then select the new image folder you want it to use.
thanks
i should have been more clear. I created an interesting mosaic mutation in the gallery show.
When i try and tweak it by adding my own images re the method you outline, it always defaults to the default images. therefore I tried removing the image folder within the application and replacing with my own. But it still defaults to the factory images, i hope this makes sense.
thanks
I'm still not sure what you are talking about. Are you talking about the gallery show source folder? In the gallery show tab in the preferences folder, you can click the source folder button and choose a custom source folder.
Or are you talking about some preset you randomized running gallery show that uses an image folder brush?
When I change the image folder brush to my own it defaults back to the image folder brush that came with SA when I run my preset. I was thinking that I could override this by changing the SA default image folder brush to my own image folder brush from within SA5 application menu
Did you save the edit you made? If not, then when you open the preset file it will revert to whatever was originally saved in it?
Does the original preset use an image folder brush? After you made the File : Paint Synthesizer : New Image Folder Brush menu command edit to point it at a new image folder, did it then use the new images?
I will check tomorrow and let you know
If you are still having issues after checking what i mentioned, attach the preset file here and i can take a look at it.
i resolved it, it was to do with saving the edited version as an 'edited version'
