apologies if this has already been asked,
now that mac os only runs on 64-bit, is there any way/workaround to be able to use movies and movie layers?
in particular, i find myself in the middle of a complicated rotoscoping project. one thing i'd like to be able to do is store hand drawn masks and recall them at various moments. in the past i'd just save them as separate frames on a layer and play back as needed. any ideas on how i might be able to achieve anything similar on the 64-bit version of SA would be greatly appreciated

You can use the shipping SA V5 64 bit build on the mac to process movie files. It's a 3 step process.
1: Convert movie file into a folder of numbered frame images.
2: Run Action : Process with PASeq : Image to Image menu command to process the frames with a PASeq.
3: Convert numbered frame rendered image folder to a movie file.
So if you have work you need to do today, this approach works. There is more information on the specifics of this in an earlier forum post about the subject.
Thanks for the quick reply. After posting this I saw your original thread RE:Image-to-image paseq from May. I posted some more detailed questions there and will let this thread die. I guess what I would love to have/request for future releases is the ability to treat an image sequence as a source for more iterative workflows beyond paseq processing.
I gave a more detailed answer in the other thread for this.
But i forgot to mention that you can use a folder of source images in current V5 when working with gallery show. So you could be working with a series or randomized set of source images that work to build up a single output image. I do this all the time in my personal artwork.
