I was crawling the streets of Matera, Italy today and may have discovered where SA is hiding! (see attached photo). Not meaning to make light of this great, sad mystery. But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Your options for saving video in Studio Artist 4 are either to output as a Quicktime movie ( a mov file), or to output as a folder of numbered frame images.
If I uninstall QuickTime, will it effect SA? Would rather delete it if it is not needed due to the security risk.
Studio Artist 4 uses quicktime for some of the image file formats it reads/writes. So without quicktime on your machine, you would lose those capabilities. You would also lose the ability to work with a movie file in the source area. And of course movie file input and output for rendering.
My understanding is that the security risk is associated with the Quicktime Player. And would require you to download and play a malicious movie file from the internet. So you might just want to remove or turn off any quicktime browser plugins you may have. And not download quicktime movie files from unknown sources.
John correct me if I am wrong, but SA also uses QT to bring in video from the camera in the live feed option.

I'm one of the unlucky people for whom Quicktime will not install under Windows 10. (I've tried all the install workarounds on the web and none have worked for me.) So I haven't been able to use SA for months -- it doesn't work at all on my machine. I'm hoping the dependency on Quicktime can be removed completely.
