I have enjoyed using V3.5 for many years, but have never been able to find an answer to this question.
While creating a video PASeq, is there any way to isolate one or more colors from the original source image? For example: If I start with a full color source image/frame, and create a black&white gradient sketch, how do I bring any selected source color back into the mix? So, in other words, all colors that are not selected would remain as black&white portions of the gradient.
Playing with image operations and tutorials for countless hours has not helped. There are options to handle this task in post, but I would much rather complete the file in SA.
Any help is appreciated!
You could select the colors, and then use that selection as a mask. Since you have 3.5, you should have the 3.5 video tutorials. So check out the ones on selection to learn how to use the selection tools. For v4 people, here's a link to a tip on how to select and mask the canvas.
Another approach would be to use the Selective Color Matte ip op to generate the selection mask.
If you need a more detailed explanation, let me know and i'll try to put together an example or 2.
