  • Perhaps I am confused and it only works with region fill as brush?
  • I'm a little confused what you are asking about. Are you talking about the internal path memory?

Here's a tip on working with the Bezier Path Memories.

You can use the paint synthesizer's internal bezier path memory for all kinds of things, it's not restricted to region fill as brush pen mode.

If i'm totally missing the point of your question please provide a little bit more information about what you are trying to do and i'll take another shot at answering it.

    • I do apologize for my lack of clarity.

I was using the region draw mode to apply texture fills and thought that I wanted to record the paths I was creating to also stroke the beziers later but I can't seem to record the region draw beziers as I can with the region fill as brush path record.

      • There is a way where you can build a single paint preset using Region Fill as Brush pen mode that first fills in the drawn region the normal way and then also paints in the path that defines the region at the same time. It involves using a Repeat Stroke setting in the Path Application control panel greater than 1 and then using the Repeat Option parameter in the Region as Brush Mode control panel set to something other than Normal.

I've attached 2 example paint presets below that show off what i'm talking about.

I just tried using a Region Fill as Brush pen mode paint preset with the path : path layer record options : pen draw menu flag turned on, and the bezier path that i hand drew gets recored into the current layer's bezier path frame.

2472640014?profile=originalI just tried that with one of the pain tpresets i attached, and you can see the selectd bezier path if i switch to bezier operaiton mode below for the hand drawn region.

2472641720?profile=originalSo you could then switch to another preset and use that path to draw with any preset you want to.

The technique i'm using in the 2 attached paint presets let's you do this kind of thing in a single paint preset. the region first gets filled in, and then subsequent path application repeats treat the region path like a normal one and paint it in normally.

        • Thank you John, these brushes are fascinating. I've just had a tentative look at their construction and already my brain is buzzing with settings I am unfamiliar with but intrigued to investigate particularly this AntiAlised solid Brush type which I am totally unfamiliar with.
          • Here's a tip on vector drawing in the paint synthesizer. It includes a section on the antialiased solid brush type, which is a vector brush type that circumvents many parts of the normal paint synthesizer rendering pathways.
            • Many thanks John.

On the closure of the User Forum : An open letter to John Dalton

Hi John I have no idea what you are going through. However the impact you have made not to continue with the user forum and your desire keep it as a permanent feature as promised in the past is a big shock. It also betrays the faith and love we have shown in you and Studio Artist.  Bluntly spoken, it sucks. That you have chosen to follow this direction in silence, allowing no compassion or understanding on our part is a betrayal of the deepest level. What is going on? This is not the John…

Interdimensional Coincidence Control

Hi everyone, I am glad the site is still here! Here is a new short video I made. All made in Studio Artist, several separate videos with alpha channels, then combined in layers with the music in Blender. A lot of MSG running through brushes, with several of the brush Path Starts being controlled by the MSG Scan Generator in the Generator part of the Path Start in the Paint Synthesizer. Also some MSG running through a brush, then making a video of that with an alpha channel, then making that a…

Whats going on with this site?

Has anyone else gotten a warning about this site disappearing? An email form just popped up, asking me to contract the owner and leave a message to let them know that they may loose their "network"Did Synthetik forget to pay it's bills, or is something else going on?I think 8 months is more than enough vacation time. Is anyone at Synthetik doing any development work at all?
