Have been doing some studies on Robert Silvers mosaic works and came to realize that the rectangle is replaced by the photograph or image with the most similar pixels. Wanted to know if it's possible to achieve this in Studio Artist.

Read more…I was crawling the streets of Matera, Italy today and may have discovered where SA is hiding! (see attached photo). Not meaning to make light of this great, sad mystery. But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Are you just asking if you can generate photo mosaic effects using Studio Artist. Yes, you can. You can use a movie brush or an image folder brush.
Some photo mosaic examples are in the gallery section of synthetik.com.
There's a mosaic tag at the top of our project blog. Clicking on it will filter the posts to show the ones tagged with mosaic.
Here's an entry into some tutorials that discuss how to generate photo mosaic effects.
