I just got a brand spanking new Macbook Pro (care of Apple replacing my old one) and am thinking of living on the bleeding edge for a change and upgrading on day one (as I have to install everything anyways).
I saw an article that mentioned that Apple is releasing OS X El Capitan today and was wondering if Studio Artist is El Capitan ready?

So far we haven't seen any unusual issues running Studio Artist 4.06 on osx 10.11 (el capitan) in our in-house testing.
If anyone does run into any issues associated with osx 10.11, please file a tech support issue describing the problem. But in our testing so far, things seem to be working fine.
Hi Chris,
Is it one of the 2015 models? Which one? How do you like it? My MacBook Pro is starting to get old (2010) although it still works fine, but I'm starting to consider getting a new one. I'm a bit worried that nothing is expandable apparently in the new models. I changed hard drives twice on my current MacBook, and that's the reason it has lasted so long.
It's the mid 2015 15" model. i7 chip, 16GB ram a 2GB Radeon R9 graphics card and a 500GB SSD with retina. It is a snappy, responsive machine and is a noticeable step up from my old machine, a late 2011 macbook pro. I have had occasion to miss the ethernet port, but all in all I'm very happy.
I do worry a (tiny) bit about expandability. By the time my SSD gives up the ghost I'll be stuck needing to replace the machine but I figure that the money that I didn't have to spend on this one will come in handy by the time it comes to that.
Thats interesting. They replaced mine too. I had a 17" mac book pro and it's power supply failed. Theye didn't have any parts so they gave me a new 15" mac book pro with a retina display, 16 GB ram, i7 chip and a 750GB SSD drive.
They apologized about not having parts, and hoped the new one would make up for it. "Oh yeah!".
Always get extended care. Especially if you have an SSD drive. it is worth the extra cost.
