tif layers

Unless I am missing something the Save As .tif option does not allow for layers to be saved in the file. Adding this support would allow for easy portability between other graphics programs that support layers and make for a much faster workflow in certain instances. Any chance of this?

  • Right now you have to save your individual layers one at a time. We're limited by the image IO library we currently use, which doesn't have support for multi-layer file IO in it.

But it's a good suggestion for the future.

    • It would be great to be able to export a layered SA file as a series of images in one pass - if saving an actual layered file as a layered file couldnt be easily implemented.

Recently I started making multi layer files and have been exporting (turning on off) the thing one layer at a time as .psd's for later recombination. Sometimes needing to do fast layout changes (or be able to reuse a chunk of art) in Photoshop.

Something that dumped the working file: layer one to file, layer two..., layer three... etc. all in one press of a button

      : )

      • Maybe we could add it as an Export option? I'll put it on my list of things to take a look at.

Studio Artist is in Italy!

I was crawling the streets of Matera, Italy today and may have discovered where SA is hiding!  (see attached photo). Not meaning to make light of this great, sad mystery. But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Losing my connection to SA, Synthetik and John has been a great sadness... and if real, ends a monumental era in my creative life. love,~Victor
