I propose a group monthly challenge. Specifically each month an image with a cool/interesting/desired effect from outside SA with be posted and the challenge will be to come up with a Preset to Paseq which mimics that effect within SA

  • I've only had Studio Artist a couple of days and I would die and go to heaven if I could get an image like that of friend of mine who's a keyboard player!  That is gorgeous!!

  • Hi Michael, sorry I didn't see your invite ! It seems like it is late.. :)
  • only one rule.. solution must be done entirely within SA.
  • can i cheat?....... ;-)
  • vectorizor is one solution, I do expect to see some posts with that as a method. However there are gradients in those vectors so it might still be a challenge to get it right. I also believe that as ever there are many ways to an end within SA. I happen to think that the Sketch Edge straighten lite imop to paths and a dualline paint might work very nicely too!
  • The vectorizer would probably be the way to go. I'd suggest breaking up the foreground objects from the background, vectorizing them separately with a region effect, and then compositing the results into a blurred vectorized background.
  • That one will be a challenge!!! I see vectorizing in my future
  • to get the challenge started --

    here is the effect:

and attached are is a trio of source images so that all can be on the same playing fieldchallenge1 folder.zip

Robert Crumb Challenge

Robert Crumb is probably one of the really great illustrators of our time. So i thought it would be fun to start a specific Studio Artist challenge project oriented at trying to analyze and then recreate his specific stylistic approaches to illustration. Again, the goal here is to use Studio Artist to create and solve the entire challenge effect. A fully automatic solution would be true genius. A manual technique or step by step recipe to produce the artistic stylings associated with the artist…

New Art Challenge

We have kind of slacked off on the monthly art challenges here recently. So i thought i'd set a new one up. It's our desire to make this whole thing a little more interesting by turning it into an official contest with official rules and perhaps some official prizes. Those official rules associated with an official contest will hopefully be posted soon. Until that happens, any discussion here refers to the intellectual challenge associated with this new Studio Artist Challenge. As opposed to…

Android Jones

I recently was introduced to the work of the artist Android Jones. I would like to think this style is amenable to an approach within SA. Though having different size layers would be a big help. (PLEASE John).   But collage layers aside, what about the elements. They seem quite vector based to me. .. can you do this in SA? ... Challenge!!
