I propose a group monthly challenge. Specifically each month an image with a cool/interesting/desired effect from outside SA with be posted and the challenge will be to come up with a Preset to Paseq which mimics that effect within SA

September 2011 challenge

anyone up for a new challenge? Has everyone tried all the old ones? Ok here is another video challenge.

Think MSG and multiple layers. Or perhaps you will find a completely different method. Only no laying on your back with a video camera and filming the sky. This one was created with no reference image.

Have fun

That one will be a challenge!!! I see vectorizing in my future

The vectorizer would probably be the way to go. I'd suggest breaking up the foreground objects from the background, vectorizing them separately with a region effect, and then compositing the results into a blurred vectorized background.

vectorizor is one solution, I do expect to see some posts with that as a method. However there are gradients in those vectors so it might still be a challenge to get it right. I also believe that as ever there are many ways to an end within SA. I happen to think that the Sketch Edge straighten lite imop to paths and a dualline paint might work very nicely too!

only one rule.. solution must be done entirely within SA.

I've only had Studio Artist a couple of days and I would die and go to heaven if I could get an image like that of friend of mine who's a keyboard player!  That is gorgeous!!

Resizing the file

It came to me yesterday how to double the size of the output of my SA file. It's such a simple thing that I am amazed that I did not think of it before. I have been using a fractal software to enlarge files up to now. I work at 150 dpi, 10x15". When I come to a version I like I save the template with all the layers and then the version I like. I then flatten the file and resize the canvas to a larger size at 300 dpi. The largest I have been able to get is usually around 18x27" at 300 dpi. .Now…See More

Paintbox 1 (from 1978-79 drawings)

This video, one of my very first using Studio Artist, was created (between 1997 and 2001) with/from a series of images made in NYC in 1978-79 when I started teaching at the New York Studio School ( I spent the whole year working on one…
