Hi all
As strongly suggested to me by John Dalton here as challenge : the approximation of specific art style from a friend of mine leaving in Burkina Faso, who paint with acrylic
One interest of this challenge is in my humble opinion that most of his artworks are realistic reproduction of modern life in villages and popular districts of Burkina Faso (and by extension, in all western Africa) and as you can notice, it has also a touch of naïve art, this painter being totally self-educated in the domain
As target images, i will post a few photography of similar subject i've made during my past travels in the country
As a momentary example of target, here a video clip of a singer from the country (in where i was involved as arranger and producer) :

P.S. i apologise for the mailing to the group i've first made, this was a mistake due to my lack of experience of this forum

coming at it from a slightly different direction. I think there is some promise in this process.

Here above a first samples of photographies i've made in Burkina Faso during early dry season (december 2002/january 2003)
SO I believe that you will want to start your investigations with discovering how to make SA draw the sort of image that you want. The coloring and texture are easy. Getting from the program the sort of simplified/stylized drawing your are aiming at is the challenge.
Start with the sketch edge im op, play also with the vectorizer. Have fun, Good Luck.
I'm sorry, relevant remark ...
...so i've tried to take by rough approximation to approach the right acrylic technique out of the natural media rendering folder and trying a few manipulation of the paint brush load
this is the current rendering after some wanderings that looks much like a pointillistic artwork...
...i assume that the choice of so to say, neutral parameters ("Flat" Path Modulation Type /"Fixed" angle modulation) as well as a bigger target canvas helped in getting a more homogeneous result than the one provided by the unmodified, original " Waterbrush2" preset
beautiful...not accurate but beautiful !
