I have been experimenting with type effects using Studio Artist... I did add the italic in Photoshop dues to a fading that I did not want in SA...There are incredible effects possible if one is willing to venture into the unknown and try different possibilities with Masking and Presets. It would help though to have a setting in SA that allowed type to be set on a straight baseline. My workaround was to go to pen mode and choose Bezier Curve

I like the distressed typography.

Text set on a line preset below. It's textured raster paint.

Thanks for the Preset. It will help a lot. I strated a favorites folder for just type. This will be used a lot.

SA offers an infinity of possibilities for distressed type...In this instance I set the type on a white page, letter spaced it manually by masking the letters and moving them individually using the m key in selections.  Then I ran various Presets to see what effects I would get...

These days kerning is something most of my students knew nothing about. I learned it when I worked for Columbia Records when I first came to New York.

I just tried using it and get a message that it appears to be damaged... I downloaded it twice to double check. I tried using it and it gives this result...Screen%20Shot%202020-04-26%20at%201.48.14%20AM.png

I'm using builds that are further down the development path, so maybe that is what your problem with the preset is about.  I'll rebuild it in release V5 and then post that one along with some more later today in the Preset Sharing group.

HI John

Have you had a chance to do a Version 5 Preset for setting type on a straight line? I have not seen it in the Presets Sharing group listing.  Thanks, Paul

Could the SA Weekly Challenge make a comeback?

I'm new to SA and really having lot of fun drifting. I think SA is the best bit of digital painting kit out there and has so much potential! The Rotoscoping thing is amazing, but I'm only into static images and printing.I like the idea of developing styles, and think SA is prefect for this. There is so much, that it becomes a bit overwhelming, so I'm slowly trying to reduce the process and get to understand the Basic steps. I don't want to just keep producing one of images that are more guess…See More
