Small Brush Performance

I use SA in interactive pen mode with a brushes set to a minimum length using the brush shape parameter. This way I get to use them like true paint brushes where I control the stroke.I have tried amending so many brushes by scaling the brush source size, but the smaller the brush gets the worse it performs. Its like the spacing gets greater the smaller the brush is - you would think that the opposite would apply (there is no spacing applied in parameters).I have tried it on small canvases…See More

Annoying Stray Dab

I always use Stroke Angle when painting and a really annoying feature is as soon as the pen clicks on the tablet you get an unwanted, stray paint stroke equal to the length set in Brush Shape. Now this stroke would be fine if it was in-line with with the pen direction, but at the on-click stage the paint stroke doesn't yet know the direction it supposed to go. The angle of the stray stroke is always at 45degrees See the attached image.A workaround would be to set the paint stroke length to be…See More

Asking for Input about Generative Art

I'm writing a series of articles on generative art and seeking feedback if anyone is interested. The more I read it seems in a way the term itself is more in fashion, and a lot of the work has a certain style, rather than there being very much specific that sets it apart from other types of computer art. One might say that Studio Artist is one of the most significant "generative" art software programs out there! Part of what I'm trying to untangle (in my own mind of course,) is that it's hard…See More
