Interesting work Sean. You might post the presets in the preset sharing room.

Yes, I will do that.

Really terrific. I've experimented with this in various 3D applications (where its generally referred to as "onion skinning") -- hadn't ever thought of processing 2D in this way.

Beautiful and interesting . . .

Glad you like Sean's video Alexander. It is a beautiful piece of work. And it barely scratches the surface of the complete range of effects you can create when working with Studio Artist's temporal ip op effects.

I did want to point out that the multitple frame compositing options available within the studio artist temporal ip op effects are really way more sophisticated than 'onion skinning'.

Unless i'm completely missing your interpretation of the term, so correct me if that is the case.

Studio Artist does have extensive onion skinning features built into it. That's a totally different part of the program than the Temporal ip op effects that Sean used to create this wonderful video.

Including user adjustable frame offset and adjustable blends for a pre and post current frame onion skin, which traditional animators use when building up hand painted animation using our movie layer features. We added all of those advanced onion skin features after getting feedback from traditional animators who use studio artist to buildup hand painted animation the old fashioned way, frame by frame.

Very nice but how to do this? Any real tutorial available?

Here's an introductory tip to temporal image operation effects.

Here are a number of project oriented blog posts that discuss different effects you can create with temporal ip op effects. You will need to click the temporal mode button to filter the display for temporal effect posts when you get to the main blog page to filter temporal ip op effect posts.

If you are very new to Studio Artist, then you might want some information on working with paint action sequences to process movie files.

Here are some video tutorials.

Here's a very simple post on processing a movie file with a PASeq.

Hey Alan,

There are a number of PASeq presets you can try.  Look for them in PASeq Mode > Movie or Still Art Scripts > Ghost Effects Temporal.  That should give a feel on how to do these and you can and edit the temporal steps to see the settings.  Some of those presets I think were used in the movie but I can't remember which ones.
