With all of John Dalton's recent work with his brick wall movie brushes on my mind, I was re-reminded of the fun of compiling a folder full of images into a movie using a simple paseq in Studio Artist. Although I initially intended to integrate a new movie brush into John's presets, I soon "lost" my way (as usual with SA) and found myself simply playing around with a new movie brush I made out of simple Oxford dictionary illustrations. I never really got around to using the movie as a movie brush per se. But I did have fun applying the Smart Displace image operation to the movie's frames while improvisationally adjusting Smart Displace's settings and the canvas layer compositing.

Chuck,
... part of what i like aboot the music is its universal quality... the way almost all world folk music sounds the same... China, Kansas, Sicily, Africa, Nepal, Gypsia... humans, left to their own devices, seems to make the same sounds no matter where they are from and what instruments they are using.

"Bringing the challenge back would be fun.  So yeah, it's a great idea.  The idea was that you would pick some piece of that you thought was cool, analyze what the components of it's visual style were, and then try to implement…"

Could the SA Weekly Challenge make a comeback?

I'm new to SA and really having lot of fun drifting. I think SA is the best bit of digital painting kit out there and has so much potential! The Rotoscoping thing is amazing, but I'm only into static images and printing.I like the idea of developing styles, and think SA is prefect for this. There is so much, that it becomes a bit overwhelming, so I'm slowly trying to reduce the process and get to understand the Basic steps. I don't want to just keep producing one of images that are more guess…See More
