Working with Bergman's 1966 film "Persona". I was struck by Sven Nyquist's clean & perfect cinematography. I am trying to work with his pure forms. These two (part 1 & 2) are experts from an 8 minute piece. Apologies to Ing & Sven for making a mess of their masterpiece.

Very visually intriguing! Quite pleasing.... [clearly] intelligent abstractions. It provokes my brain to wonder and; the rhythms, densities, definition....the elements are all working in concert. I'd probably hurt myself trying to get this sort of effect! It'd be nice to look at some stages of a single frame though.

Thanks David... this uses the same tools as "Oracle Head"... boundary ellipse setting in the Vectorizer, with some edge enhancement (experiment with the composite settings with "min" and "soft overlay white"... that sort of thing). The particular mix (% Mix) of each element is typically determined by the content, contrast, size of your source video; as well as by the amount of motion in the source. This particular source has very simple forms and very little motion... that's part of why I chose to use it. If there was way more motion it would have been chaos on the canvas (or I would have taken a very different approach).

"OK, let's address the 'stops responding to pen input' issue first. Are you on mac, or windows? And if mac, running the 32 bit app, or the 64 bit app? So we are aware of this issue that apple introduced on an osx update. That i think…"

In the early 70s I wore a Greek sailors cap here in NY with a red star pin with an image of Stalin that was a gift from a friend who had performed with the Jose Limon Dance Company in Russia

Where are personal settings stored

Every once in a while, SA stops responding to pen input, and I have to shut it down. When I start it up again, SA acts like I started it up the first time, -all my personal settings have disappeared, and the default layout is my only selection possible.Where does SA keep those preference settings? I'd like to restore them from by backup, or at least copy them to a safe location.ThanksSee More
