I have a video that, when I import it into Studio Artist as a source video, appears upside down. In other applications, including the quicktime player, it appears and plays back right side up. Any ideas of what's happening?

Your video probably has some meta-tag in it for modifying the display orientation that we aren't reading and then following in V5.5.
The pre_V6 code does have some additions for this kind of thing. If you can get me an example source video with the problem, i can check it to see if we deal with it correctly now, and if not figure out what we need to do to address it.
Chris i think you have my email address, so you can send it to me directly. Or you can start a tech support ticket at synthetik.com and attach it there, and that will wind it's way to me to run some checks.
I wanted to point out that you can build something in the beginning of a movie processing PASeq that rotates the source image and then drops that rotated source back into the source area for subsequent movie processing. Or you can dump the rotated source into a second layer and then use that layer as the source for your subsequent processing.
this happens to me too when i use an app on my iphone. it's fine in final cut pro but sideways in quicktime and s.a. if i export it in quicktime it gets rotated the right way.
