Basic Image Tile - Touch Up Manually - cannot select a folder for New Image Brush

The folder stays at the one pointed to by SSA,

and no matter how many times I attempt a

right click/New Image Folder Brush, SSA's own

default folder persists. My preferred folder is

on the desktop, and has about 1000 PNG files

each at about 500x500 resolution.

Ok, i selected the basic Image Tile - Touch Up Manually paint preset so that it loaded as the current paint preset.

I then ran the File : Paint Synthesizer :  New Image Folder Brush... menu command.  A standard file dialog comes up so that you can select a folder on your hard disk.

I selected a folder of images on my hard disk.  The paint preset then started using the folder of images i selected as the image folder brush rather than the default one we ship with the program.

The help tip associated with the preset is just pointing out a way to bring up privileges menus associated with a control panel.   So that is an alternative way to run the menu command i ran directly.

 

So why is this not working for you?

If the folder you are selecting is on a remote disk that is being accessed via networking, that might cause a problem.

Or if there is a non standard character in the path name of the folder, that could cause a problem.

So those are 2 things to check.

Another thing to try is to select one of the image folders in the Brush folder inside of the main studio artist folder.

If Studio Artist doesn't have read access privileges for the folder you selected, that could be another potential problem.

It does a Mosaic with the Standard Default SSA Folder.

Trying to select other SSA folders (birds, sunglasses,

geo shapes) also fails. My chosen file has worked

before, so I cannot guess at to what has happened?

I'm wondering if you are reloading the preset after running the New Image Folder Brush menu command.

Any edits you make to a preset are not saved in the preset file until you explicitly export it.
