Is there a forum group for brushes? I there a video on using brushes?
You need to be a member of Studio Artist to add comments!

But I just couldn't resist as I try to make sense of what's happening. Losing my connection to SA, Synthetik and John has been a great sadness... and if real, ends a monumental era in my creative life. love,~Victor

When you say 'brush', what do you mean exactly? Using images or movies as a source brush in the paint synthesizer? If so, here's a tip on creating a movie brush. If you search in the synthetik blog for photo mosaic or movie brush, there are tons of posts that detail different ways to use them. And you should search the user forum, since movie brushes have been extensively discussed here over the years.
I saw a few posts referring to "brushes". I was thinking it was something like PSD "brushes". I didn't see a video tutorial on "brushes" or a menu for "brushes", so I thought I was grossly missing some component of SA. Seems I have no idea what a brush is because there are no "brushes". :-) I'll check the links you provided.
In PSD you are basically always painting with an image brush. So when people talk about PSD brushes, they are referring to the image that is dragged around the canvas stamping out paint nibs based on the image shape.
In Studio Artist, an image brush is just one particular programming option in the Brush Source control panel of the paint synthesizer. So 'brush' in Studio Artist typically refers to an image or movie file inside of the Brush folder in the main Studio Artist folder, that might be used as a Brush Source within a more comprehensive paint preset.
All of the different Studio Artist effects can be saved and restored as Preset files. There is a Preset Sharing Group here on the user forum. And many additional presets have been shared by forum users in individual forum posts, or in discussion posts associated with artwork they posted to the forum.
Thanks. I'll check it out.
