Hi john: I’m now on an iMac retina 5k 27zoll with macOS mojave using the SA 64bit version. I'm a big fan of the paint preset mixer. I've very often screen-distortions of the mixer window and have to place it to another position. the mixer-function isn't there really affected, but it's a little bit disruptive to me. can you enhace this interface in an update and make it more stable, thanks. please could you also think about to make the 1-2-3-4 squares ready for drag and drop, so it would be possible to drag presets (with Icon) in it, like the favorites bar?

I often have multiple vertical and horizontal lines appear when I use it, it works great, but eventually the lines interfere
So what did you do to create the draw artifacts in the 1 - 2 png images?
I'm not seeing it in SA V5.5 in my testing, but want to make sure i'm really testing it the way you were using it.
I detected, that it happens when menues overlap the canvas and then running PaSeqs or when I'm resizing the whole program-window. If using the PaintPresetMixer in a floating palette the artefacts did not occur.
I'm going to assume it's fixed since i can't reproduce it doing any of the above here in SA V5.5.
I'm getting the same thing.
iShowU-Capture.mov.zip
I can reproduce this by sizing the editing windows to overlap the canvas and drawing on the canvas - under the editing window.
The artifacts go away with undo for me.
The attached .mov (hope it still works) illustrates the draw effect and a couple undos.
Thanks for the feedback, that was another way for me to test it here. I don't see it in SA V5.5 when i do what you did, so i'm assuming it's fixed.
You will see it in release SA V5 64 bit.
I should point out that in Studio Artist V5.5 you can mutate paint presets directly in either the PresetBrowser, or in the Editor.
You can control whether the mutation source extent (which presets it is using as a mutation pool) is just the current preset Category, Collection, or Full Set. If you are in the Preset Browser.
If you are in the Editor, then your mutation is tied to the current paint synthesizer Editor settings. Which could easily be different than the current preset parameter settings. But you can still control whether the mutation source extent (which presets it is using as a mutation pool) is just the current preset Category, Collection, or Full Set.
And of course since you are in the Editor, pressing the Mutate button there will just do the mutation on the current Editor sub section (so Path Start Setup for example if you are currently in the Path Start Setup control panel).
Holding down the shift key when you press the Mutate button will do all of the control panels.
There's also a SmartEdit button the Editor. Which tries to make intelligent editing decisions for you.
Keep in mind that Randomization of a preset is very different than Mutation of a preset which is very different than SmartEditing a preset. Which is why we give you the different choices.
You also have the option of initializing to a static default parameter settings (current control panel or all of them(shift press Init button)).
So with all of these new 'riff a new preset quickly' features inStudio Artist V5.5, we should probably reconsider what the Preset Mixer window should become. In many ways it's more limiting than what you can now do in the Preset Browser and Editor directly.
My initial thoughts are that we should move it higher up the conceptual food chain. So maybe it mixes and morphs Generative Art Strategies?
Feel free to make your own suggestions. They will not make it into V5.5, but might influence the V6 design of this window.
