I've been wanting to do this for about two years, and last Saturday it finally happened. We held a live performance with a musician in my studio, for my city's open art studio weekend. We were both improvising, for a tiny but very enthusiastic audience, mostly friends. A modest beginning, but we both enjoyed it and I hope we can build on that. I recorded one of our rehearsals and most of the performance with a video camera, and although the recording quality is not great, I hope to be able to put together a short clip and post it to Vimeo.
The musician was using a guitar and her voice along with a few other accessories to create looping sounds.
On my side I had my MacBook Pro and Wacom tablet, and of course Studio Artist. I had prepared three sets of source images, organized in their folders so that I could drag and drop them on the source area, and three sets of paint or dual paint presets saved as favorites.
It was a lot of fun and I hope we can do this again soon!
