Need Output info...

Hello,

I'm new to the software. I recall the intro videos mentioning that it's good to work with a small photo i.e. 720 px or so. How do I output a hi res file for printing? No sign of this info anywhere. Am I missing something? Or do I just start out with a hi res file?
