"Sorry, should have mentioned it is not a vector image - just something he did in Midjourney. Your answer points me in the right direction, though - I'll try the Vectorizer for starters. I don't think something like Gigapixel or the other tools you…"
"A friend has been asked for an 80x40" print of a work he originally created at 768x768 pixels (ouch!). Is there an upres strategy involving vectors that might be a place to start? I don't know much about that format, but am wondering if vectors in…"
"In my experience, if I have a clear direction that I want the system to take, I start with an init image and tweak as needed. But it's equally intersting to start without one and tweak the prompts. Will be interesting to see if any of this finds its…"
"John - did you look at the Visions of Chaos interface shot I sent? It adapts to whichever model you are using (he has incoporated nearly 100). The main thing I like about it is that you don't see all the code for each cell. And you also don;' need…"
"Nice looking work. I went with the A6000 for the VRAM and the ability to do native 2k with nearly all DD models loaded. Don't know that I would ever use all the models at once, but it definitely gives me some headroom for what's avalable now and…"
"Interesting. I "met" a guy on Discord who is running several flavors locally and he offered to help me get set up ("2 - 3 hours guesstimate") after building the container at Lambda. Seems very confident in all aspects of the tools (mining crypto…"
"I've been deep into Disco Diffusion for the past few weeks and like John said, even the Pro+ account at Google Colab ($50 per month) locks you out frequently. I've been using a Cloud-based VM at Lambda Labs (forget AWS and Azure) via a Docker…"
"Oh, yes, I remeber that issue. I just copied the folder over from my backup drive to the PG folder... Will move it elsewhere and see what happens. Thanks much. "
I've got a 300 MB H.264/QT movie loaded as a source and when I click the Play button in the Source window, it does not advance - end and star buttons both work. I have an interactive paint preset loaded Particle Painting) and I am trying to draw on…
"John - Thanks much for the detailed reply. Lots of options to try out. Already getting interesting results from the Unique setting in Ip Op. Might be back with a few quesions, but thaks again. "
As a proof of concept, I need to make, say, 10 - 20 (ultimately 1,000) variations (random at first) of a single source image and save them all to disk. What would be the best way to do that? Thanks for any suggestions.
thanks for taking a look at Manifold... we applied many different custom and preset PAS's to the video clips like convex hull and rank filters. we used source effects first and applied canvass effects on top. the clips were ran through up to 8 times additively with a variety of effect combinations. the processed clips were composed together in Final Cut with layering effects.
hi Dennis i have just realised that you replied to my enquiry ,,,sorry for the delay in getting back to you but i didnt realise you had responded with the way these Ning messages work.
i will check out the stuff you posted
Hey Mark. Do you happen to own Native Instruments Reaktor? That would be all you need cause there are a ton of free Reaktor Ensembles for this kind of thing in the NI user library. Probably the same is true for Max/MSP & Pluggo at Cycling '74, and those have free runtime hosts. Also at Cycling '74, you can find M2.6, which is generative (and not free), but only for MIDI as I recall.
Several others come to mind:
AnalogBox from Andy Turner (http://www.andyware.com/) lets you create
"Jambots" and has a lot of examples.
hi dennis,
i have just read your bio, and i wonder if you could advise me?
i am looking for some generative music software. i have tried the 'ixi' software in which you just drop a folder of wav/aiff samples into it and see what it does with them. But there is no parameter control (although that can prove more interesting sometimes!)..Do you know of anything similiar, that just messes with audio.

Heizenbox (http://www.kvraudio.com/get/888.html) for loop-based
granular processing.
Kenneth Adams' Musigenesis (http://www.tucows.com/preview/395691).
Musolomo from Airy Andre (http://plasq.com/musolomo).
TimeToy Pro Max/MSP (http://www.lownorth.nl)
Günter Hager's X-Wheel of Fortune (http://www.hgf-synthesizer.de/se/X-

Hope some of that stuff will work out.
Best.
