How do you use Studio Artist?
I'm a poet exploring using visual work to accompany recitals of my poetry. I'm deliberately using still images, not movement; the emphasis is always on the words. You can catch some of the results on my iTunes podcast, "seen, heard) poetry". I am not a sophisticated user of the product.

When I started writing poetry properly, I found strict form very useful to keep a poem in shape while I experimented with linguistic expression. I'm now confident enough in poetry to have moved into modernism, well beyond normal language structures.
But using imagery with poetry is new to me. Restricting myself to still images is equivalent to restricting myself to a poetic form; it enables me to produce something effective, I hope, whilst I explore. The form itself keeps a work in shape whilst I struggle to express.
And, anyway, unless done carefully, animation of poems distracts and detracts from the poetry. Consider those animations of Billy Collins poetry: the animations were excellent, but one key thing they did was to reduce the impact of the poetry itself, of the recited word. It's clearly not easy to combine vision and poetry, and I'm not ready to explore quite yet.
I suspect the solution may be to follow the approach of composers setting lied; set the second rate stuff so something significant can be added by the music. I'm not sure what that says about my own poetry, given I've set it myself!
I wish I could make sensible comments on other peoples' artwork here, but my visual arts background is photography only. I know little about the place Studio Artist came from, where people using Studio Artist can go. When I've properly explored the product, and explored its context, then, I hope, I'll be able to make sensible comment.
So apologies for not returning comments on peoples' work.
i only started using it at the weekend...you are right in what you say, i didnt realise how simple it was!..i am probably looking for problems before they occur!
like your site and poetry, especially ten.
i am currently working on an ilife webpage.
pity u have to ad visuals when you just want to put music up!..well , thats how i see it.not a bad little package tho!
Thanks for the comment on my site. That front is very very new. I built it in iWeb, which is part of Apple's iLife suite. Unfortunately, iWeb is insufficient, so I'm going to have to switch to some other software soon, so the appearence may change more that I'd like.
If you're interested, there's a lot more poems if you click on "Arts & Ego". That takes you to my site's previous content. A good number of the poems are less .... erm ... middle-aged.
Cheers
Frank
Simple nice site by the way.
