Using the Sketch image operation in sa4... boundary ellipse and boundary rectangle are used to rather busily & abstractly track the edges of the source video which was itself an abstraction. It's a start... I think I should have created it at a slightly lower frame rate (@10fps instead of 12). The compression on this website really hits the detail hard, but I expected that. Subtle color is added via a 20% mix of blurred source.

You lucky one got a try-out of version 4?

Yes John, more abstraction would always be welcomed... tho I find that any of the 'realistic' tools in SA can be turned on their head in the service of evil abstraction!

And Frank, I'm lucky to be a beta tester. It's a fascinating process... in the very early stages where there is incomplete skin over a partial skeleton; and, almost 100 versions later, as it nears completion.

Victor, I totally believe you that :-)
By the way, I like your "Wireframe Abstraction".

yes! ... it seemed familiar to me but I wasn't able to figure out why. wouldn't it be amazing to hand Studio Artist to artists throughout the ages? One one level I would expect they would be horrified at the general experience of sitting in front of a glowing screen clicking buttons and having "virtual" experiences. But if they could get past the insanity that is using a computer, I would love to see them adapt, experiment, play and flower.

Problems with video output

Hey everybody, I'm new here and totally new to Studio Artist, as well. So far I'm loving the program--everything I create in the program looks amazing! But I'm having trouble exporting finished videos OUT of the program that actually play. I did receive a nice email from Peter here when I emailed Support but he also asked that I post my questions here on the forum so others can see and chime in.Basically, what I'm trying to do is use a pre-exiting mp4 video as my source and then auto-rotoscope…See More
