john: are such cool generative effects also employable to a resolution independend vector-outline (within the vectorizer) and then output the results as animated .svg- or .swf-files?

There's currently no direct way to output vector files from msg. So you'd have to put together some kind of indirect strategy to create vector output. You could use the Vectorizer to convert a raster image created by MSG to vector output.

All of the MSG processors that generate 'point cloud' style effects can be used as Path Start Generators in the paint synthesizer. There is a Studio Artist news blog article that discusses this in more detail. So you could use the MSG processor to drive the paint synthesizer and configure the paint synthesizer to output vectors and generate a vector animation that way.

Studio Artist currently outputs eps files, so you could create an animation with a PASeq that is outputting to a folder of eps frame files, and then import those into Flash to generate the final flash animation.

I've thought about providing another way for MSG processors like this to output vectors directly, so i'll think about that some more.

One thing to keep in mind about this particular animation is that the overlapping lines build up solid color, and while this kind of thing is easy to do with a raster frame it's very hard when you are talking about vector formats like eps that don't provide for direct blending.
