The Station in the Middle of Nowhere

Some concept work for my game "The Tower." Utilizes a painterly style (as with many things I've been doing) but this time, I'm going to apply it to the entire look of a game. Generally doing this on my spare time.The Tower features a story of a boy named Cosmos who one day discovers himself turning into a shadow after encountering a star. To get his soul back he finds a tower that reaches beyond the heavens to the stars and begins to climb it. The game will be a 2D shooting, side-scrolling platformer.The work itself here was first created entirely in 3D using Maya, it was rendered in MentalRay then pre-processed (for coloring, contrast and otherwise) using Photoshop. The painterly effect was produced manually using Studio Artist, and final post processing was dealt using Photoshop again.This image is not meant to be any form of final work, and it serves more as a visual reference to style and coloring.
