  • This one used the "Fixed Hatch" path angle. The Paint color Source Color Mode popup was set to 'Primary Start Prob'. Prob stands for probability. All of the start probability color mode options allow you to build a pointillist effect of combining together base colors that mix to generate full color tomes when looking at a larger area of the canvas. This is the approach used in color printing where a full range of colors is created by combining together cyan, magenta, and yellow ink dots. In this case line strokes are used as opposed to dots. Using something like an opponent or analogous start probability color mode can create more impressionistic color effects.
  • Could only find Preset>Paint Synth>2.0 Collection>autopaint1>orient hatch fine1. However was able to set the paint color source color mode to Primary start Prob. Where is the Fixed Orient Hatch path angle? My result didn't even come close. If you would show an image of the control panel it would help to see from where you set the parameters. Thanks!
  • "Fixed Hatch" refers to a specific path angle setting in the Path Angle control panel. As opposed to a name of a specific preset.

Any of the different paint presets have a set of 400 editable parameters you can adjust to modify the behavior and appearance of the paint preset. All of the path control panels (path start, path shape, path angle, path end) determine the behavior of studio artist's intelligent assisted drawing. Path start control panel determines where paint strokes will start drawing. Path shape determines how the path will be constructed. Path angle determines the angular orientation of the path. Path end determines when a generated path will stop drawing.

There are a number of more in depth tutorial videos on tutorial disc #3 that discuss each of these paint synthesizer control panels in depth. And of course there's the studio artist user guide pdf which give some kind of an explanation of all of the over 400 editable parameters in the paint synthesizer as well as overview discussion for each of the control panels in the paint synthesizer.
  • The screen shot shows the path angle set to 'fixed orient hatch' as opposed to 'fixed hatch'. this particular image uses fixed hatch which is another path angle option available in the path angle popup control.
