  • I like - very much! This and VBS are some of the nicest kaleido work I've seen done in SA. Usually the output of the particular warps are too busy and confusing (at least what I've tried is). Nice and simple with an organic feel reminiscent of micro-photographs of simple elemental organisms. I also like the monochrome appearance.
  • Thanks for the comment Richard. This was a small piece from a much larger (5000x5000) 'busy and confusing' warped image and was processed with compression/morphol/edge ImOps and layer blends to bring out the organic 'wrinkles', which were nearly invisible at first.
Vbs on the other hand was simply 4 touches of a 2000x2000 Invert C source brush with Height set to 600 with some similar processing/blending steps.
  • Some great insight to how you achieved the look - thanks for sharing. I really need to spend some time with the other functions/tools within SA but I am so focused on hand painting that I never go there. Plus I have an aversion to using tools that do too much "behind" the scene - just a hold over from old school thinking. A passing thought - as a defunct graphic designer I would think this element might have some legs (sales) on a site like iStock Photo. Have you thought of doing that?
