  • hey bernard how would you describe your experience with the 3d printing?

    do you recommended?

  • Hello Morales.

My experience with 3D ? humm.

You have to be very patient. There are many problems due to filament quality, nozzle temperature adjustments, technical problems. I had an extruder problem, and I was not satisfied because Ultimaker didn't answer my ticket (2 months)! And you're alone with your problems.

Now, I can replace every peace of the printer, mechanical or electronic. (that also why I choosed Ultimaker, an open printer).

So, recommending buying a 3D printer ? I don't know what to answer..

It depends on what you're looking for. Business ? Or just playing with ? If you want to make your own production, the 3D printer, in general, are not made for it. More to create prototypes than production objects.

Also, if you want a fine printing, a little piece can take about 30 hours or more to print. Ultimaker can print very fine pieces, but if you want to produce, you'll have to use 2 or 3 printers.

I also made a test with a Studio Artist vectorized picture and printed them in 3D. Interesting. But If you have a very complex vectorized picture, each individual colored piece has to be printed alone, or you select all the pieces that have the same color. It takes many time. I have now more than 5O colours.

So I can now print this kind of picture.

I'll do it one of these days. I just need some motivation :-)

  • Thank you so much!

can you upload the pictures of the pictures when you finish?

    or anything you have done.

  • Here is an example

  • Morales, if you want to buy a 3D printer, and searching for a business, and you're not afraid with the Erotic business, here is a site where you can do special things :-)

Open it with Firefox (don't work with Safari)

You can create online, and export in printable .stl files.

But you can also create other things; like a glass, bottle, etc….

Have fun, haha, but don't print it too big !

  • Got it! Thanks
