I've been playing around with emulating this in the v5 code. It's a good test case. I'd like to get this kind of stylized look going with pure vector paint effects. You can get more dimensionality in vector paints using some of the new v5 features. And emulating this is giving me some good ideas for expanding on those features.
So this is a good example of a case where posting some example art images like this that you would like to emulate the paint style of ends up leading to the development of new program features. It's very good feedback for me. So i'd encourage people to put together other posts like this one of art styles they would like to see emulated in Studio Artist.

I think really not for the exact effect as we do not have true 3d in SA. but we can get some interesting results trying the impossible
like this

Michael, I think using particle paint looks more 3D like this one :
CoolStyle5 Particle1.zip
Or this one :
CoolStyle5 Particle2.zip
3dmultibrushcafe.zip
Other pictures
the last two are very cool but also very obviously 3d. Probably z-brush but could be Maya
Yes it's like a wire.
I wonder if that sort of paint brush could be created with SA.
In my last posted picture, I'm not too far from this. I had just to tranform the worm in a wire....:-)
John posted some examples called coolstyle.
