New type of Dual Brush

John

How about a special class of Dual stroke brush. One that would contain 2 different brush presets so the first stroke would be preset a and the second ( in my mind on the same path) would be preset b.

(compiled presets anyone?)

As I type I can also see a class that would simply alternate between preset a and preset b without it having to be on the same path.

there would be all sorts of wonderful effects one could do with either instance. And if the program could handle 3 presets .. watch out!!

  • good idea. i thought of such a possibility once already. such an implementation in future releases of SA would be very great.

  • OK, i can look at this idea again. It's been on our list of interesting things to do forever. The original ideas came from synths like the old wavestation that allowed you to stack multiple presets into a single grouped preset.

The issue with the paint synth is that the brush cache is pre-computed for a given paint preset. So if you switch right now, the brush cache is re-generated. So we either need to have 2 brush cache memories, or the brush settings are ignored for the second preset and just mirror the first.

    • I vote for 2 memory caches.. as ignoring the brush settings would in many cases drastically change the preset.

    • Thinking about it I vote for 4 memory caches.
