This is something I just ran into. Compared to SA4 SA5 offers even more possible algorithms for stuff like path start generators, vector options etc. These are currently listed as a really long long long list of options via popup. Now as a long time user I know what's what, but even as a person who kinda knows what's going on, the list of options feels pretty long.
This part of SA is quite a bit confusing since there aren't many visual clues as to how each algorithm operates or behaves so a lot of it is serendipity and guess work. The documentation does somewhat help but mostly it relies on "trial and error" basis I feel.
So here's the thing. I propose the list can use some organization. Maybe a categorical popup that clarifies what operation does what. As of now, SA kinda drops you all options in that giant list, so while I notice how there are some operations bundled in the list, it feels a bit confusing anyway.
Example category (taken from the documentation):
1. Random Scan Generator
-- Clumpy Random
-- Smooth Random 1
-- Smooth Random 2
-- Smooth Random 3
-- Cat Map
2. Top to Bottom Scans
-- Rectangle Grid Scan
-- Hexangle Grid Scan
-- Gridscan - Max Brush
etc
This way, each time we open those options we'd be able to focus in on the option we want to choose and try, which makes for less trial and error.
