  • It's kind of a simulation of analog video feedback, where you would point a live camera at a monitor displaying the live feed from the camera.

    A live video input from an iSight camera was used as the source. A looping PASeq was processing the live video input. The first step in the PASeq was a paint synthesizer step that paints on the borders of the image. The second step in the PASeq was a MSG preset. It is really what is simulating the analog video feedback. It rotates and scale the existing canvas image, so that's what generates the inward spiral over time as you loop the PASeq. I actually started off with a red fixed color source and then switched to the live video feed halfway through the processing, so that's what gives the red interior.

    You actually wouldn't have to use a live video feed for the source, you could switch from a red fixed color to an image source to generate the same effect. I was testing live video input which is why i ended up using that.
