  • Read every word. Understood Symmetry and warp. Unclear on how you interactively folded distance, but it's nice regardless. :-)
  • If you look at the warp types in interactive warp there is one called Kaleido Fold Distance Symmetry, so that's what i was referring to in my cryptic text. It's not a normal kaleidoscope, the fold term refers to what is going on in the mathematics under the hood. Distance symmetry refers to the fact that as you pull the mouse out from where you moused down the order of the symmetry increases.

I worked with the image after the warp quite a bit using various image operations. Part of that involved running multiple cycles of Smooth followed by a edge composted Blur. If you just run a sharpening operation multiple times the noise in the image will be enhanced at the same time as edges in the image. So by smoothing and then sharpening and smoothing and them sharpening i was able to enhance the structure in the image without bringing the noise level up.
  • The original image was a not particularly interesting photo taken in the local Home Depot store with a low res phone camera.
  • Amazing. When I play with image ops and warp, I feel like I'm in OZ. Great fun but totally serendipitous. Just starting to play with that side of things. Land mines abound.
