The text is coming from using a text brush with region fill as brush pen mode. You can use anti-aliased vector text brushes in v4 in addition to the older pixel based text drawing effects.

  • MSG is a modular image processing environment. You can string together different processors, each of which is a different image processing effect, to build more sophisticated visual processing effects where the individual processors work together to create the overall effect. Since it's modular, what you can do with it is pretty unlimited.

    You can also mutate and evolve new MSG presets in the Evolution Editor. So even if you don't understand the details of low level MSG editing, you can still modify and build new MSG effects via directed evolution (clicking on a preview cell in the Evolution Editor to bring up mutated variants).
