  • was this created with actual V4 processors ?

  • Everything except for the final color gradient mapping is using v4 processors.

2472647699?profile=originalThe last 1to3ModGradMap1 processor is new. It spatially modulates the gradient mapping between 3 different color gradients. But you can get pretty close with this particular MSG preset if you switch to the 1to3ModGradMap processor (which spatially modulates the gradient mapping between 2 color gradients).

  • The last one has 3 gradient inputs. And V4 1to3ModGrapMap processor has only 2.

But when I look the "stream source library", the color gradient2 exists but not applicable to this processor ?

  • You can drag and drop streams from the Stream Source Library (list on the right) over to the Bus (list on the left). So you would drag and drop ColorGradient2 over to the Bus, and then it will be on the Bus.

The Bus is a list of Streams that are used in the current MSG preset.

Once a Stream is on the current MSG preset Bus, then it can be accessed as an IO connection for any of the processors used in the MSG preset.

  • Yes I know that, I do so, when I need a src input, and add them to the Bus.

  • OK it's on the bus but If I look after processor IO, ColorGradient2 is not available !

2472647890?profile=originalAnd this is the Bus :

  • In the IO Editor, there is a list of ports and the associated BusStreams that are attached to that port. So, if you go down to either the Gradient or Gradient1 Ports, and then you click on it's BusStream, you will get a popup that shows a list of all of the Streams on the current Bus. So then you can choose which Stream you want to attach to that particular Port.

    2472647706?profile=original

So, you would choose one of the other color gradient streams, like ColorGradient1 or ColorGradient2.

  • Yes it's OK, I thought this gradient2 will be added as a port input in the port list, same as gradient or gradient1.

  • When you add a new Stream to the Bus, it's not going to do anything to change the existing IO connections for any of the processors in the processor list. You have to make those changes manually.

Also, when you drag a new processor over from the source library to the processor list, it makes an attempt at hooking up the various IO ports for that processor. But it's not very smart about it in reality, so in general you need to manually edit the IO connections so that they are more intelligently setup for whatever it is you are trying to achieve in the particular MSG effect..
