  • These are awesome Bernard. Your technique works incredibly well with the subject matter. Image number three, the portrait in orange/brown, is particularly effective. It looks like sculpted burl wood.
Could you share the technique? I have a portrait photo in mind I have got to try this on.
  • Thanks Tony, here it is

  • The technique is used is "simple".

In the PASeq, you'll see that first, the Vectorizer generates the Region.

Then the paint synthesizer used it and paint in it an MSG generated pattern.

If this pattern is ok for you, just run it.

If you want to choose another MSG picture, you just have to run this MSG preset first.

Then you go to the tools menu, and choose vectorizer, and "action" : (because SA has memorized the last operation you did with the vecto and the paint synthesizer)

2472661797?profile=originalAs soon as the vectorizer has finished his action, run the paint synthesizer :

Now your final picture is painted with your MSG pattern.....

It was possible with the MSG live option of the paint synthesizer !

2472662739?profile=originalI hope it was understandable :-)

    Have fun...

  • If you have generated a new MSG picture for use with this PASeq, you can also record it in a new one !

  • I run some experiments with your PASeq but everytime I get a lot of small white spaces in the result ! Any idea why? I will run some more experiments this evening!

  • Always begin with a reset on black background.

You can adjust this, but you must play with the setups of the vectorizer and the Paint Synth.

To have this result, I played with them 3 evenings....! I'll continue and will post them

  • Bernard: "play with the setups of the vectorizer and the Paint Synth" What do you mean. In the mean time I shanged the background color by a specific color which match the original picture and that looked much better.

  • Ha...what can I tell you ?

There are many, many, many adjustements possible. And one affects the others, the vecto influences the paint synth, and the choice of the MSG is important, and finally the source picture is also important.

That's why I tell you, I spend 3 evenings. I noticed all the modifications and affections.

Vectorizer : Main technique : image, ---> generator choice ?, then Drawing menu --> region effect, vetor fill option...

    Paint Synth :

    Pen mode,

Region as brush mode --> generator and style,

then Path Shape : Region Pattern type.

    Brush source : source.

Brush Type : Source Alpha brush

etc, etc, etc.....don't hope sleeping this night !
