  • Bernard,

A very unprepossessing name for a very nice stained glass like effect/composition!

I would love to see an animation that used this aesthetic. Great!

  • Thank You Craig !

Yes, as I explained once, I'm cataloged as a Visual Karaoke "artist" that's why V.K.

But this doesn't affect me…it motivates me even more :-)

Yes an animation can be interesting, but I think that the frames do not succeed properly. It will be a little randomized effect.

Here, it's an MSG preset that generates this picture. And then I used the vectorizer flat input technique to colorize the regions….

  • And in the vectorizer drawing panel, some new V5 features adjusts the edges

  • looks like Batik work batik art

  • Bernard,

It is a very dangerous line (full of passionate opinions) - the space between “art” and commercial art. I make my living with commercial art. When I see exciting possibilities for tool use - like this effect - it makes me want to see if there is a way to put the possibilities into practice.

Problems with animating “cells”: the areas of different colors contained by (in real stained glass) the lead (metal) framework… Yes, I could see where maintaining continuity from frame to frame in an animation could become an issue.

Tho something like this is what I would imagine digital tools would be all about.

The effect - and in the case of your post: subject matter - are very pleasing. Thanks!

  • I wanted to point out one thing associated with approaches that break apart the canvas into separate regions that are then going to be detected and filled with color.

Sometimes using raster output for the black and white line drawing part of the above process makes more sense (than using anti-aliased soft vector lines drawing). Since if you use anti-aliased black lines, they will be rendered by the flat input technique as multiple regions (due to all of the single pixel gray tones located in the edges of the anti-aliased vector black lines), rather than as solid black single regions.

  • in my example I made a test in raster mode, but there was no difference

  • wowww.. the black and white version looks great!!! is this V5?

  • the msg part of this PASeq is composed by 4 V4 processors
