    Here's a simple paint preset that can generate a fabric textured region. I modified one of the original posted presets to generate this. You can modify the source in the paint brush load control panel to use background texture and the modify the background texture settings to change the texture on the region. This paints a lot quicker than the region raw pen mode approach when working with larger canvas sizes especially.

      Here's a variant of this preset modified so that you can directly edit the background texture control panel settings to modify the texture added to the region.

      John, downloaded the presets that you posted, while the brush is set to region draw as brush, I am getting brush strokes. I modded the start from smooth random1 to color simply region, and modded the path shape from curve to path start regionalize
