Here's a simple paint preset i put together that paints a simple grid using a text brush, where the brush size is modulated by the source image luminance.

You can change the text message and the font characteristics in the Brush Source control panel of the paint synthesizer.
If you change the TB Size (font size for the brush) in the Brush Source control panel, then you will need to adjust the horizontal and vertical grid spacing in the path start control panel. The way this preset works, it scans the canvas in a grid pattern. A single text brush paint nib is painted at each grid scan position.
