HV partition? Is this in the tutorials or a parameter in one of the synthesizer?

HV Partition Regionize is a new path start generator option in version 4. You could take any of the path start regionize photo mosaic presets and switch to this generator for this kind of adaptive coverage. I actually generated this particular preset by modifying one of the 3.5 graffiti brush presets.

It is also available in 3.5 in the MSG Evolver application as an arrangement algorithm option in the evolver artmapper.
