Working through some tutorials on building 'paint strategies'. You can think of a paint strategy as a recipe for creating finished effect, where you combine together different individual presets that work together to create a final effect. As opposed to just grabbing a single paint preset and pressing action. There's nothing wrong with that approach, but i think a lot of beginning users coming to Studio Artist just assume that you use a single paint preset to build a finished painting, end of story. While you can certainly do that, in general you're going to want to with with different edited versions of that preset (like adjusting the brush size over time) as well as add other effects to create a finished piece with some visual complexity in it.
