As a newbie, I'm trying to make changes to (e.g.) PAS presets. I know I can click on the red square in PAS, go the editor etc., but is there a way of tracking to see, when the preset selector switches to e.g. Classic Syn or Image Op, which specific preset and/or ImOp is being used? I know sometimes its obvious as the naming in the PAS is clear, but other times I haven't the faintest idea which one is being used.

When you click on red keyframe for the action step you are interested in, it sets up the interface with the information in the action step, and then plays back the action step. At that point you can look at the op mode, and the editor settings associated with it to see the details of the action that was just run.
PASeq action steps don't reference the information in specific preset files. They store all of the Editor settings associated with the op mode recorded in the action step.
Thanks, but when I click on the red square for an auto paint step, although I can go to the editor, the mode often switches to Classic (etc) and shows the last preset I used there, rather than showing the auto paint preset being referenced by PASeq. ?
What I was trying to do was to note which auto paint preset had been used so I could use it in a new PASeq (along with other steps, including from different PASeq presets). Alternatively, I’m guessing, I could take note of all the settings in each drop down panel in the editor and repeat that, but that would seem a very long winded way of achieving it?
In the main preset browser, below the current preset name and to the right of the preset type, there is a text status indicator that says either 'active' or 'edited'. Active means that the current Editor settings match the current preset. Edited means that the Editor settings do not match the current preset (they have been modified in some way).
When you click the red keyframe and run a PASeq action step, you will notice that the status indicator changes to 'edited'. So, the Editor settings now match what was stored in the action step you just ran, as opposed to matching what is stored in the current preset file (which is no longer active after you run the action step).
If you want to restore the Editor settings to the current preset, you'd have to manually reload it. You can do that by clicking on the current preset icon. If you do that, you will see that the status indicator changes from edited to active.
As i said before, PASeq action steps do not directly reference individual op mode preset files. They store all of the individual Editor settings for the op mode action they recorded.
If you want to save a specific op mode preset for the contents of an action step, you can do that by first playing it back, and then running the File : Export menu command for that op mode.
Thank you, got it.
