I downloaded the TSP Subdivision Experiment and I have no idea where to put it. I put it in the preset/favorite folder and tried using it and Studio Artist closed both times I tried. Where should I put it, please? I have no idea! I'm very new with Studio Artist.
Thanks!!

That was a PASeq preset. You can always import loose preset files from your hard disk by running the appropriate File : Import menu command. So to import a PASeq preset you would run the File : Import : Import Paint Action Sequence Preset menu command.
If you are on a mac, you can just drag and drop a preset file onto the studio artist application icon in the Dock, and the preset will be imported and become the current preset.
Studio Artist factory presets are stored in the Preset folder inside of the main studio artist folder. Here's a tip post that explains how the Preset folder is organized.
Probably the easiest way to add new preset you download from the forum is to place them in a custom favorites category. Here's a tip that discusses how to make a custom favorites category.
Thanks, John. I'm almost computer illiterate. And I assume when you say, "run," you're talking about "start/run"?
I was talking about using a File menu command. If you look in the file menu, you will see there is an import sub menu there, that contains various specific import menu commands, like Import Paint Action Sequence Preset.
I'm on a mac right now, so here's what it looks like on a mac
I realize you are on windows, but the File menu is essentially the same on both platforms, just located at the top of the main studio artist windows as opposed at the very top of the display like it is on a mac.
Thank you! Thank you!
I installed it like your directions said to and it worked the first time; I saw the layers blending together. And after that, the program quit on me. I turned the program back on and right after I tried to get the new preset going it quit on me again. And a window came up that was titled, "PASeq Layer Playback" and the window message was, "This PASeq uses more layers than are currently in the canvas. Do you want to add the aditional layers before playback? ok/cancel Clicked ok and then another window cam on that said, "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close program and notify you if a solution is available." Before this new preset, I have clicked on the layer before and it stayed on layer 1. And then one time I couldn't even find the preset so I loaded it in there again. Any suggestions? Should I maybe install Studio Artist again?
I don't think you need to reinstall studio artist.
We'll run some tests on windows today to make sure there isn't some issue with that PASeq on windows. Also, if you ever run into a crash, the studio artist help desk is a good place to report it and get techncial support on fixing the problem.

That particular PASeq uses 3 layers. So if you don't currently have 3 layers in the canvas when you try to run it, that dialog comes up telling you that the PASeq uses more layers than are currently available, and asking you if you want to add the additional layers it needs to work properly.
Thanks. I've never been able to do anything with layers. I've clicked on it, and nothing's happened.
I think the problems some of you may be having with the PASeq preset might be associated with it being generated in a development version of studio artist, as opposed to the current shipping version. It uses features available in the shipping version, but my guess is that this maybe what is causing the problem. I'm getting some weird problems opening it on windows in my testing here. So sorry for any confusion.
I may need to rebuild it from scratch in 4.04 and then post that for people to work with.
You are so kind for doing all that you do! I appreciate it. And maybe check on Windows layers, too?
Here's a rebuilt version of the PASeq preset built from scratch in version 4.04. This runs fine on windows in my tests here. So again, my guess is that the weird problems some people ran into were associated with the original PASeq preset posted being built in a development build of Studio Artist. Again, sorry for the confusion associated with this.
You can edit the PASeq preset to run the Fixed Image (layer 2) - MSG (layer 2) - Fixed Image (layer 3) for more cycles if you want a better approximation to the delaunay triangulation. As i mentioned, we added a feature to the development code so that you can do this kind of thing easily in the future as a one step single action operation (using an exact calculation as opposed to this approximate way to do it). So the new feature is a little cleaner (better triangles, more versatility).
