A request that comes up often here on the user forum is for presets that can generate a raised lighting effect when applied to the canvas. This is sometimes called an impasto look, associated with the 3-dimensional appearance of textured impasto paint.
The Gradient Lighting image operation effect is a great tool or creating this kind of look. I've attached 2 PASeq presets that you can experiment with. The 'Grad+2Sharpen' PASeq preset is a combination of a gradient lighting ip op effect with 2 additional sharpening effects based on the Blur ip op. This can generate a normal impasto effect when applied to a painted canvas image. The 'Grad MultiScale1' PASeq preset uses multiple applications of the gradient lighting ip op at different spatial frequencies to build a a more dramatic raised lighting relief effect.
