Trying out some vector paint ideas. The black outlining was generated by using the Color Edge ip op to generate a set of bezier paths that were then painted in with the paint synthesizer. I'm using a luminance path angle and visual attribute path end settings for the hatching patterning.

justice Roberts is looking a little squished. I like this in general I looks great in the thumbnail, which prompts me to ask: can the black lines be given more variety in line weight? Generally speaking I would want the majority to be substantially thinner.
The hatching paint brush size is just modulated by the source image luminance. You could use the 2nd size modulator to randomly vary it a little. And you could cut down the max size.
The black sketch lines could be made thinner by just cutting down the max size for the brush size modulation in brush modulation control panel.
