Automatic photo collage experiment. I'm using a 30% transparency setting in the Paint Fill Apply control panel for this experiment, so that overlaid collage images mix with what was previously on the canvas. Also using the Local Image Range option for the Nib Masking parameters to get the auto-masking at source image edge boundaries.

I'll try to put something together that discusses how to do this in a little more detail. The paint synthesizer preset for this kind of style is pretty simple. For this particular photo collage style i'm using single brush nibs (so max path length is = 1).
I'm using a movie brush based on a folder of propaganda poster images. I try to build the different images in the folder to work together in interesting ways when they are randomly combined. For this series i was interested in the juxtaposition of different propaganda posters that were coming from a number of different nationalistic political movements, both current and historical. I also threw in a few appropriate movie posters in addition to working with opposing political viewpoints to dial up the irony in the resulting collages a little.
I'm using RGB Mapping for the movie brush frame modulation.
